LeapFrog Text and Learn

LeapFrog Text and Learn - A Blackberry For Babies?

Educational toys will again be popular Christmas gifts for children. Parents are always wanting to get the best out of their children and ensure they are learning at an appropriate rate. One way to help them has been a trend of getting educational toys. Popular toys in 2009 will include the Leapfrog® Text and Learn, Leapfrog® My Pal Scout, and the Kidijamz Studio. All are a little different, but each encourages learning and development in a unique way.

The New LeapFrog Text and Learn is built to resemble a PDA or BlackBerry. Now, the adults out there will note that it is over-sized, curvy, chunky and bright green. But in the eyes of the average two year old it is very PDA like indeed. After all it has a large screen and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Because it looks like a grown up gadget the little ones will love it. But, this is still most definitely an educational toy for little ones. A cute onscreen character called Scout the Pup helps your kids develop their keyboard skills, learn the alphabet, learn about shapes and learn to browse and follow directions. All through silly songs, games and animations.

You might not like it as much as your BlackBerry but the toddler in your life just might. At only around $20 this is one educational toy that does not break the bank. Nevertheless it does take its educational credentials seriously. By registering the product at the manufacturer's website you gain access to the LeapFrog Learning Path. This is full of useful hints, tips and suggestions to steer your children on the path to learning skills they will need in their future.

The LeapFrog Text and Learn has had mixed reviews. It is incredibly popular with many, and definitely a great learning tool. But, if your child already has a mobile phone and Nintendo W11 they probably won't be impressed, which makes sense. This is designed for toddlers who are yet to experience the full range of electronic gadgetry out there. A taster if you will to help them copy their parents with their own version.

The LeapFrog Text and Learn is a winner and appears to be the Blackberry for Babies. With everyone running around with Blackberries and I Phones this gives this age group their own hand held device. It also allows them to begin to explore words and start to spell.
